Tala Raheb is a Palestinian Christian from Bethlehem, Palestine. A doctoral candidate in Asian, African, and Middle Eastern Religions (AAMER) at Emory University, she is researching how Palestinian American Christians interact with Christian Zionism at the intersection of American religion and politics. Her writings have appeared in Exchange Journal of Contemporary Christianities in Context (published by Brill) and International Journal for the Study of the Christian Church (published by Taylor and Francis).
Tala is also the recipient of several fellowships and awards including, Inaugural Lamin Sanneh Research Grant 2021-2023, (Princeton Theological Seminary), Louisville Institute Dissertation Fellowship 2022-2023, and Ambassador Warren Clark Fellowship (Churches for Middle East Peace) 2021-2022. In addition to her work in AAMER, she is pursuing a concentration in World Christianity.
Tala received her BA from St Olaf College, and her MTS from Candler School of Theology, Emory University. In her free time, she enjoys baking, hiking with her husband, and teaching her dog Banksy new tricks.
