Palestinian artist Ghadeer Hamoodah
Michael Spath, UCC PIN friend and executive director of the Indiana Center for Middle East Peace, is helping along with others to organize this Stones Cry Out Solidarity Delegation, sponsored by several groups, including ICMEP and the Palestinian Christian Alliance for Peace. To learn more about The Stones Cry Out Solidarity Delegation and its sponsors, go here.
The delegation has been designed with three parts; UCC PIN is organizing a UCC contingent to support the second part in D.C.
Part 1: A delegation of U.S. faith leaders will be leaving Feb. 27 to travel to Palestine for meetings arranged by Kairos Palestine and Global Kairos for Justice.
Part 2: Returning to the U.S. on March 4th, the delegation will go directly to Washington, D.C, the seat of power, joined there by activists from near and far. The schedule of advocacy with elected officials, public witness and actions, and worship, is now in the planning stages, as well as logistics for housing.
UCC PIN is recruiting and urging a strong contingent of UCC folks to come to D.C. to participate in this second part of The Stones Cry Out. The Rev. Sara Ofner-Seals, UCC PIN steering committee member, is the point person for our UCC organizing. Please contact Sara (smo@plymouthfw.org, 860-287-4196) for more information about the schedule and housing possibilities and to let her know you will be coming.
Part 3: Encouragement for those who can’t come to DC in person to organize in their own communities public demonstrations, phone calls to Congress, prayer or worship events, educational programs and the like on Weds. March 6.
