The UCC Palestine Israel Network was started in 2012, after events at UCC’s 2005 General Synod convinced a few activists of the need for a grass-roots organization to promote justice for Palestinians. We conduct our work in partnership with our Global Ministries as well as other advocacy and solidarity groups, and partners in Palestine and Israel.
We initiate resolutions of witness and support implementation of adopted resolutions while developing educational materials for use throughout the UCC community. We issue statements in support of, and endorse, pro-justice positions; and partner with allied groups working toward a just peace and recognition of Palestinian human rights.
It was in this place that Jesus walked, and that shepherds responded to the angelic vision of “peace on earth and good will to all.” It matters because the occupation ignores human rights, violates international law, and denies the sacredness of every person. American tax dollars support the occupation; we have a right and duty to speak up.
As disciples of Jesus, peacemaker, justice seeker, and liberator, the United Church of Christ Palestine Israel Network affirms the dignity and sacredness of all people, stands against oppression and injustice, and works for peace with justice in Palestine and Israel.
